If you love figuring out puzzles, solving a mystery or simply helping to preserve historic and vintage fashion :
Our archives are over flowing with patterns from all eras that may never be available to the public. We desperately need pattern testing and notes on construction - so that I can create detailed sewing instructions along with a wider range of sizes for each pattern.
If you'd like to read about the sheer volume of what is in the archives, and why extra hands are needed - you can pop over HERE for the long version.
The short version is simple:
Visit one of the eras below and choose a pattern. Each one has a link to send me an email to let me know you'd like to work on it. Be sure to indicate if you want a PDF or a printed copy. (Alas - printed copies are only available in the USA.)
Sew it up in muslin or other scrap fabric.
Take notes, make diagrams or take photos to let me know the steps you used to construct it. Note also if you have any other issues with the pattern.
Send me the construction info/graphics - and I will create a beautiful set of sewing instructions and grade the pattern into larger sizes.
Rinse - repeat. For every pattern you complete - I'll send you a free pattern of your choice from the website - along with some exclusive swag that I'm putting together just for participants.
Only deadline - return your notes/diagrams/photos within three months of adopting a pattern to remain active in the program.
