A 1941 cape you can sew in two lengths
One pattern, two looks. This 1941 cape comes in two lengths, so you can choose the version that suits your wardrobe, and a shoulder pad pattern is included for the structured shoulder line of the early 1940s. We've reproduced this period pattern and graded it into a wide size range, from 32" to 54" bust.
Choose how you want it
- PDF digital download (all sizes included): print-at-home files in US Letter and European A4, plus an A0 file for printing at a copy shop.
- Full-size printed pattern: printed by us in two size groups: 32–42" bust and 44–54" bust.
Sizes
- Bust: 32–54"
Print-at-home page counts: 32–42" bust is 49 pages and 44–54" bust is 54 pages. The shoulder pad pattern adds 2 pages.
Sizing and fit notes
This pattern was graded up from the original 32–34" bust, which was drafted for a B cup. The larger sizes have not been redrafted. If you're sewing 44" to 54" bust, you may need to adjust the length and shoulder width. A full bust adjustment may be needed above a B cup.
